This is a very easy fix. Follow the steps below and this repair can be done in 10 minutes.

1. Tools – T15 and T20 drivers, needle nose pliers, a Philips screwdriver, and a thin flat blade screwdriver

2. Keep track of the order of the removal of all the parts. Start by removing the dish baskets (and don’t lose the clips for the upper basket).

3. Remove the lower spray arm. Hold the plastic support bracket and then turn the arm opposite.

4. Remove the two screws from water feed tube. There’s one on the top and one on the bottom. Tip, do not remove the screws completely. Only loosen enough to remove the tube.

5. Turn the tube with the lower cap clockwise, unlock from the “accumulator.” You may have to slightly bend the tube and lower cap assembly as you turn it.

6. Remove the support bracket and DON’T LOOSE THE NYLON washer. This is listed as the “bearing” in the parts list.

7. Remove the Torx screws from the accumulator and lift it straight up.

8. There are two more Torx screws to remove. One that houses protector and the other that holds the cover over the chopper.

9. This next step is a little tricky. Using a thin blade screwdriver, depress the clip on the right side of the cover to remove.

10. Remove the chopper assembly.

11. Clean out all the grooves that the chopper screen will be set in.

12. With a long needle nose pliers, depress the spring and bracket on the chopper and place into the grooves, then release. The brackets on the chopper should lock into the motor assembly.

13. Install the cover. Start by placing the clip on the right side of the cover and place over the chopper screen. It should fit without any gaps over the screen.

14. Reassemble in the reverse order.

This chopper assembly chops/minces the food particles to prevent clogging of the dishwasher pump.
