I just received this laptop yesterday, and I can't say enough good things about it.I have owned some very nice laptops, including a 15" Unibody MacBook Pro... and the Lenovo T430 beats them all by a longshot in build quality, performance and features.I truly am amazed by this laptop.It's a beautiful machine.
It's built like a tank, loaded with features, fast, has the best keyboard EVER, the display is beautiful and very crisp/accurate, etc.And the nine cell battery is great too!I have 75% battery remaining right now, and it says I have over seven hours remaining.Wow.The fingerprint reader is also a nice touch.You can power it on by swiping your finger instead of hitting the power button.It's also nice that it has vents on the side and back, rather than just on the bottom.The internal sound from the surround sound speakers is great too... very detailed and rich.You can also adjust it with the built in equalizer.Upgrades are incredibly easy on this machine too.Everything is very accessible by various ports on the bottom.It doesn't get hot either.Oh, and I do a lot of graphic/audio/video intensive stuff... and I know that this computer will MORE than handle it.
Oh, and the spill resistant keyboard and three year warranty?Nice touch.

My only caveat is that there was no WWAN card installed. The option to install one is there on the laptop; I went back and forth looking over this model (2344BMU) and did my research, all of them seemed to have a WWAN card. But unfortunately, not this one. Overall its still a good purchase. Reliable, very functional, and the options of doing upgrades on this unit can make it a long-term mobile workstation for anyone who needs one..

Wow, don't get this...I kinda hate it...for some reason it's really slow--and I got a brand new one--and it's got issues.The screen randomly flashes on and off, even when plugged in and the power settings are not on any kind of saver mode.It takes a long time to start up and open many kinds of basic software.I really can't recommend the extra toggling buttons on the keyboard either, they just seem to be in the way.My 9 year old Dell was better than this 9 years ago, and it's only slightly worse than this now.Look for something else, guys...

Very nice laptop and even better made by Lenovo in the Thinkpad tradition.Also have the X230 Tablet which am typing on now. Each has its own strengths.What is nice is the T430 includes a DVD recorder built in while the X230 must use the base to use its DVD Drive.It would be super if the X230 could include the DVD drive but maybe with the future of DVD's and CD's going digital it may be not an issue in the future. But if you want a DVD recorder built in the T430 with Windows 7 Pro could be a less pricey but good choice.Did not try the later models of thinkpads as they are still in a less traditional path.
